Past the sign through a Royal Palm lined stretch of highway there's a world as near perfect as nature itself. Manuel Diaz Farms encompasses 4,000 acres between Okeechobee and Dade County. 150 employees are full time at the FARM. Given the scope and prodigious output of the operation, that number seems rather small. "The secret" says Manuel, " is to hire only the best and pay them accordingly."

Quality, that often overused word takes on a fresh meaning on a visit to the Diaz Farm. Field after field is planted with row after row of every conceivable ornamental tree and, of course, Palms. Over 15 varieties of Palms are grown extensively in the South Miami farm alone, all cared for in an environment where not even the smallest weed is suffered to grow. Like every aspect of the farm, transport and installation of materials are carefully controlled. A gleaming fleet of 18-wheel transports keeps the busy 7-day-week schedule running continuously. State-of-the-art augers capable of opening 40 pits an hour deliver the speed and efficiency which Manuel's large scale developer clients require. Manuel is a man possessed with an intense love for nature. A father of 4, he enjoys watching every plant grow like his own children. "Every tree, is a work of art, a lasting legacy - an oak can live up to 500 years" he says. The quality of his trees, Manuel believes, is his best selling tool.
